Butt-Jointed Tube

Also known as: Neck tube, flush-closing tube

A butt-jointed tube has three parts: the body, an inner neck glued inside the body and rising above it, and the lid. The lid slides over the neck and meets the body end to end, so the closed tube reads as a single cylinder.

It is made from wound cores and finished with rolled edges; being automation-friendly, it is fast and consistent in volume production. Removing the lid reveals the neck, and wrapping the neck in a contrasting colour adds a second reveal.

What you can customise

Every pack is made to order for your product and brand. Each of the points below is decided together at the quotation stage.

Body/lid ratio: The height of the joint line and how much of the neck shows are set by the design.
Neck colour: The neck can be wrapped in a different paper or print from the outside.
Diameter: 40 to 130 mm for rolled-edge tubes made from wound cores; larger diameters are a separate, mostly hand-made flat-edge model.
Height: Up to 45 cm as a single body; up to 90 cm by joining two parts in the middle.
Inside surface: Black, white, kraft or silver (metallic look) as standard; a custom colour or printed interior is possible on high-volume orders.
Wrap and print: Offset-printed paper, lamination, hot foil, embossing and spot UV can be applied to the body and the lid separately.
Insert: Foam or cardboard holders can be added for bottles, jars or delicate products.
