Tube Boxes
Telescopic Tube
Also known as: Lid-and-base tube, slip-over tube
A telescopic tube follows the lid-and-base logic: an inner tube (the body) with a rolled bottom edge and closed base, and an outer tube (the lid) with a rolled top edge and closed top. The lid is made slightly larger in diameter and slides over the body.
With no inner neck the construction is simple; the lid can be short or long enough to cover almost the whole body.
Typical uses
- Posters and documents
- Drinks and bottles
- Textiles and accessories
- Gift sets
Highlights
- 01
Simple build
Two tubes and two end discs; fewer parts than a butt-jointed tube.
- 02
Flexible lid length
From a short cap to a long lid that wraps almost the whole body.
- 03
Rolled edges
The body’s bottom and the lid’s top are rolled, giving strong, clean edges.
What you can customise
Every pack is made to order for your product and brand. Each of the points below is decided together at the quotation stage.
- Lid length
- How far the lid covers the body; the visible band of body is set by the design.
- Diameter
- 40 to 130 mm for rolled-edge tubes made from wound cores; larger diameters are a separate, mostly hand-made flat-edge model.
- Height
- Up to 45 cm as a single body; up to 90 cm by joining two parts in the middle.
- Inside surface
- Black, white, kraft or silver (metallic look) as standard; a custom colour or printed interior is possible on high-volume orders.
- Wrap and print
- Offset-printed paper, lamination, hot foil, embossing and spot UV can be applied to the body and the lid separately.
- Insert
- Foam or cardboard holders can be added for bottles, jars or delicate products.
