Ribbon Handle Paper Bag
Also known as: Grosgrain or satin ribbon handle bag
The ribbon handle paper bag is the most popular model after the rope handle bag. The body is made the same way, with the top folded in and reinforced. The difference is the handle: the ribbon enters through the mouth and is fixed to the inside of the top, so no holes show outside.
The ribbon itself can be printed; with hot foil or digital print the brand name appears on the handle too. It stands out for prestige, boutique and gift products.

What you can customise
Every pack is made to order for your product and brand. Each of the points below is decided together at the quotation stage.
- Ribbon
- Grosgrain (ribbed) and satin ribbon in various widths and colours.
- Ribbon print
- Hot foil or digital print on the ribbon; it depends on length, so it is usually chosen for larger runs.
- Size and gusset
- Width, height and gusset are set to your product. Large sizes may not fit on one sheet; the bag is then made from two joined sheets.
- Paper
- Paperboard (bristol) is the most common; coated paper and natural-looking kraft are also used. Typically 150, 170 or 200 gsm; 250 gsm is the upper limit.
- Print and finish
- Offset print, matte/gloss lamination, varnish, hot foil and embossing; lamination also strengthens the surface.
- Top reinforcement
- A thin board strip is glued inside the folded-in top; the handle area gets thicker and the place where bags tear most is protected.
- Decorative ribbon
- A decorative ribbon across the middle can be added on top of the handle; it is applied to each bag individually.
- Bottom board
- A board insert in the base keeps the bottom flat and carries the load.
