Rigid Boxes
Drawer Box
Also known as: Sliding box, sleeve and tray box
A drawer box consists of an outer sleeve and a tray that slides out of it. In the standard model the back of the sleeve is closed and the drawer pulls out from the front; open-ended versions can also be made.
It offers a richer unboxing than a lid and base box. A ribbon or a finger hole is used to pull the drawer, and the two affect cost differently.
Typical uses
- Jewellery and accessories
- Chocolate and confectionery
- Cosmetics
- Invitation and occasion boxes
Highlights
- 01
A slower reveal
Sliding the drawer out slows down the first moment with the product and makes it special.
- 02
Ribbon or finger hole
A finger hole is die-cut and adds no material; a ribbon adds elegance but is a separate material and hand work.
- 03
Two surfaces
Sleeve and drawer can use different papers or colours; the inside of the drawer can be printed too.
What you can customise
Every pack is made to order for your product and brand. Each of the points below is decided together at the quotation stage.
- Opening direction
- Closed back (standard) or open-ended sleeve; the drawer can pull from the long or short side.
- Pull detail
- Ribbon (colour, width, fixing method) or finger hole.
- Size
- Inner dimensions are set to your product to the millimetre; you are not limited to stock sizes.
- Board thickness
- Chosen for the weight and feel of the box; we recommend 1.5, 1.8 and 2 mm and use imported board where possible.
- Wrapping paper
- Coated, kraft, textured specialty papers or book cloth; outer and inner surfaces can be chosen separately.
- Print and finish
- Offset print, matte/gloss lamination, hot foil, embossing and spot UV can be added one by one.
- Inside surface
- A plain white/black or a printed interior changes the cost noticeably; it should be specified in the brief.
- Insert
- Foam, cardboard dividers or EVA keep the product fixed inside the box.
