Magnetic Box
Also known as: Book-style box, magnetic closure box
A magnetic box consists of a base tray, a lid attached to the back of the tray and a flap that drops over the front. Magnets inside the flap and the front wall close the box with a firm, satisfying feel.
It ships fully assembled and offers one of the strongest unboxing experiences among rigid boxes, which is why it is the most popular choice for cosmetics, gift sets and premium products.

We use round N35 neodymium magnets on standard jobs and measure Gauss on every batch, so the closing feel stays the same order after order.

Lid, spine and tray are wrapped with one sheet, giving an uninterrupted outer surface and a large print area.

Smooth hinge
If the board gap and score depth at the hinge are wrong the lid feels tight; we check this on every model.
What you can customise
Every pack is made to order for your product and brand. Each of the points below is decided together at the quotation stage.
- Magnet
- Round (standard) or square magnets where the model requires; strength is matched to the product weight.
- Lid flap
- Flap length and how much of the front it covers can be changed to suit the design.
- Size
- Inner dimensions are set to your product to the millimetre; you are not limited to stock sizes.
- Board thickness
- Chosen for the weight and feel of the box; we recommend 1.5, 1.8 and 2 mm and use imported board where possible.
- Wrapping paper
- Coated, kraft, textured specialty papers or book cloth; outer and inner surfaces can be chosen separately.
- Print and finish
- Offset print, matte/gloss lamination, hot foil, embossing and spot UV can be added one by one.
- Inside surface
- A plain white/black or a printed interior changes the cost noticeably; it should be specified in the brief.
- Insert
- Foam, cardboard dividers or EVA keep the product fixed inside the box.
